How to Change iCloud Storage Plan

How to Change iCloud Storage Plan on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Windows 2024

Apple is notorious for providing 5GB of default storage in iCloud. It is certainly not enough for everyone to store many more photos, videos, and files online. So Apple introduced iCloud+, which lets you get more storage and brings additional features like Privacy Relay, Hide My Email, and custom email domains.

But you may need to upgrade your cloud storage over time, especially if you click a lot of photos, shoot a lot of videos or store large files. So in this post, we will share the steps to upgrade, downgrade or cancel your iCloud storage plan using your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Windows PC.

If your iCloud storage exceeds the capacity of your new storage plan, iCloud will not sync or update your information. iCloud updates again when you increase your storage capacity or delete data to make more space. If you downgrade to a free iCloud plan, you'll no longer have access to iCloud+ features like Hide My Email, Private Relay, and HomeKit Secure Video support. If you pay for both Apple One and an iCloud+ plan, you can downgrade or cancel the iCloud+ plan and use only the iCloud+ plan included with Apple One. After you choose to change storage plans, there may be additional steps before you can downgrade or cancel your storage.
